Hungarian logistic group Trans-Sped, based in Debrecen, acquired forwarding company Trint, based in Tatabánya, for HUF 3.5 billion as part of its expansion into the western part of the country, Trans-Sped told Hungarian news agency MTI Wednesday.

Trans-Sped purchased Trint one year ago from the Finnish state railways, Managing Director Zsolt Fülöp said. The Finnish company had revenue of more than HUF 3 bln in 2014, prior to the merger.

With the acquisition, the firmʼs headcount rose by 120 and Trans-Sped acquired warehouse capacity of an additional 42,500 square meters. Trans-Spedʼs offer of services has been expanded to include air and maritime forwarding.

Trans-Sped has a fleet of more than 120 vehicles and provides work for a further 200 vehicles owned by subcontractors.

Trans-Sped announced in December 2015 that it will build a 6,000 sqm warehouse in the Tatabánya-Környe Industrial Park to serve the storage needs of Japanʼs AGC Glass Hungary. The new facility is expected to be completed in December 2016. The two companies have signed a HUF 2 bln warehousing and service contract for eight years.

Trans-Sped employs more than 700 people and had revenue of almost HUF 15 bln in 2015.
