The ÉletMentő (LifeSaver) application was launched by the Vodafone Hungary Foundation and the National Emergency Service in 2020 as a joint emergency call application, reaching over 700,000 downloads since its launch.

“It fills us with pride that the LifeSaver app has helped the work of the paramedics in more than twenty thousand cases and delivered help to those in trouble. It was fantastic to experience first-hand that so many people were interested in the emergency call application on the Rescue Day in Városliget, and that so far, the LifeSaver app has been downloaded nearly 715,000 times. We are confident that the joint application of the Vodafone Hungary Foundation and the OMSZ will be able to contribute in even more cases in the future to help aid arrive where it is needed, in time,” shares Emőke Flakstad, managing director of the Vodafone Hungary Foundation.

Since the launch of the application in 2020, more than 700,000 people have downloaded it, and this summer alone, nearly 2,000 calls were made using the service, The service itself is recognized by several professional awards.

The app aims to simplify over-the-phone communication during an emergency. When a user presses the emergency call button, the medical data they have entered in advance, as well as the location of the caller, become immediately visible to the rescue operators.

In previous years, the application was expanded by sending push messages and a chatbot function that answers questions concerning the application, coronavirus and the new emergency system info buttons. This year, the application is being expanded with a location-based function. From now on, an emergency call from the Hungarian LifeSaver application can be made from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.

In addition to the emergency call function, the LifeSaver application also contains additional information such as the location of the nearest pharmacy, hospital, and defibrillator, as well as life-saving information with a single button press in the event of an emergency.
