Suzuki sales revenue climbs 28% last year

The Hungarian unit of Japanʼs Suzuki had €1.97 bln in sales revenue last year, up 28% compared to 2014, operative director Róbert Krisztián said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

Export sales reached €1.85 bln in 2015, Krisztián added. 

Last year, the Hungarian unit of Suzuki sold 181,115 cars that it had produced itself, up 20% from 2014. Out of these cars, 7,500 were sold in Hungary, giving Suzuki a market share of 9.72%, according to the company. 

Suzuki wants to sell 9,000 cars in Hungary this year and boost its market share to 10%, the press release said. Based on the data of the first five months of the year, sales are growing, as they have already reached 4,192 cars. The company has 76 brand dealers in Hungary. 

Suzuki said it aims to manufacturer more than 200,000 cars this year at its plant in Esztergom.
