Survey: More Japanese companies in Hungary
An annual survey by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) revealed a slight increase in the amount of Japanese-owned companies operating in Hungary, according to a press release issued yesterday.
As of June, 151 Japanese-owned companies, including 46 manufacturers, were operating in the country, compared to 147 total and 47 manufacturers last year, the press release said.
Exports by Japanese companies in the country accounted for about 5.5% of total Hungarian exports in 2015, for a value of EUR 5bln, the press release noted.
For the first time, Japanese companies are employing more than 30,000 people in the country, the survey also revealed, according to the press release.
