Hungarian poultry processor Pulyka-Java is reportedly investing HUF 500 mln into a two-phase expansion project at its plant in Pácsa, southwestern Hungary, owner Ferenc Borsós said today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

As a result of the investment, the company plans to increase headcount at its plant by 70 to reach 225. In the first phase of the project, Pulyka-Java will build a warehouse and expand its plantʼs reception area, while in the second phase it is planning to increase the cooling capacity of the plant, MTI added.

According to the news agency, annual production capacity is set to double from the current 10,000 tonnes of processed products once the expansion is carried out, plant manager László Bánhalmi said. Pulyka-Java had sales revenue of HUF 1.1 bln and after-tax profit of close to HUF 32 mln in 2014, MTI added.
