Opel to set up €1.7 mln training center in Hungary

U.S.-owned car producer Opel has plans to set up a €1.7 mln training center at its plant in Szentgotthárd in western Hungary, Joachim Koschnicke, in charge of Opel's government relations in Europe, said today.

According to plans, approximately €700,000 will be alotted for building the structure and €1 mln is expected to be used to purchase equipment Koschnicke said, adding that the center is scheduled to open this fall.

GBS, the business service company of Opel's parent General Motors, also announced today that it will open an office in Budapest in May, employing 40 people at the start.
