Novro winds up HUF 600 mln investment

Hungarian meat retail and wholesale trader Novro today inaugurated its HUF 600 million cold storage facility and logistic base in Birján, southwestern Hungary, national news agency MTI reported.

The company received a HUF 134 million grant from the European Union for the construction of a 1,500 sqm property, including a cold storage warehouse with a capacity for 600 tons of product, meat processing and packaging units and offices.

The company currently employs 50 people. Beyond sales in Hungary, Novro exports products to Romania, Croatia and Poland, József Novreczky János, the owner of Novro and mayor of Birján, said, according to MTI.

The company had HUF 4.5 billion in revenue last year but Novro is expecting revenue to shrink this year, MTI said.
