NISz calls tender for more than HUF 5 bln of optical cable
Hungary's National Infocommunications Service Company (NISz) has called a tender for an estimated HUF 5.1 billion of optical cable for a railway communications network in the European Union's Tenders Electronic Daily (TED). NISz said in March it would start talk with a consortium of Kapsch Carrier Com and MVM Ovit, a consortium of SELEX Electronik and Huawei Technologies, and with Nokia Siemens Networks on building the “Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway” (GSM-R) system. A contract on the project, with an estimated cost of around HUF 22.6 billion, is expected to be signed by the end of June.
