Six hundred and fifty motorcycles were sold during the period of June-August, 5.5% more than the same period a year ago, online business news portal vg.hu reported yesterday.

In total, 1,632 new motorcycles were sold in the first eight months of this year. The Hungarian Vehicle Importers Association forecast that 2,200 new motorcycles would be sold in 2015, 16% more than in 2014.

The average age of motorcycles in the country, however, is growing and the used motorbike import market is also booming, with 5,800 used motorcycles imported in 2014, or 10% more than in 2013. Two thirds of imported motorbikes were more than ten years old.
