The Hungarian Industrial Park Association (MIPSZ) has a mandate to establish strong advocacy in the interest of industrial parks and local councils with a view to making industrial park developments a priority in time for the new European Union funding period, chairman Tamás Janzsó said at the association’s inaugural meeting in Siófok, near Lake Balaton, yesterday.

MIPSZ, which has 17 founding members, and Hungary’s National Economy Ministry are jointly planning to organize a roadshow in the near future, Hungarian news agency MTI said, but did not include further details.

National Economy Ministry deputy state secretary Áron Márk Lenner noted that, although there are more than 200 industrial parks in the country, only half of them operate as “genuine” industrial parks with companies and regular investments.
