Magyar Telekom receives CSR Hungary award

Initiatives

Magyar Telekom’s education program, entitled Telekom Smartdigital, received the first prize in the “Common responsibility - Common issues” category of CSR Hungary Awards 2015, according to a press release issued on Friday.

Within the framework of MTel’s program more than 62,000 students learned about the conscious and safe usage of internet from volunteer colleagues working in the telecom sector. The program was launched in partnership with Digital Knowledge Academy in 2003, in an attempt to develop the digital maturity of Hungarians.

The program is primarily aimed at students of primary and secondary schools, who are educated about the internet in general by volunteers of MTel.

According to the company, the success of the program lies in the fact that children can learn from professionals who work in the sector, as such they can gain up-to-date knowledge on the topic.

We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
