Lexmark’s Budapest Shared Services Center was recognized for improvements in system efficiency with the “Best Process Improvement and Innovation” title at the SSON Shared Services & Outsourcing Excellence Awards, according to a press release issued today.

The awards were presented last month at a gala held in Dublin, Ireland, by the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON), a 10,000-member professional association of shared service centers.

By developing a workflow and content repository solution in its Budapest center, Lexmark reduced end-to-end customer setup lead time, greatly improving the customer experience and delivering increased efficiencies, the company says. These technological changes were also supported with organizational changes in the form of new staff roles and responsibilities, with all teams working together toward the common goal of streamlining complex processes into lean practices, it adds.

“This award is a testament to our innovative capabilities, the organization of our teamwork, the skills of our Budapest knowledge centre and the hard work put in by the our colleagues company-wide, to improve our internal systems and provide a vastly improved customer experience,” said Péter Csucska, general manager of Budapest Competence Centre, Lexmark. “I am delighted that the Hungarian team – János Szöcs, László Szabó and Ágnes Tóth – not only had a part in the replanning of the work process but also played a leading role in this. We are encouraged by the level of efficiency we have reached.”
