Production has started at a HUF 30 billion particle board plant recently built by Swiss Krono Group in Vásárosnamény, the managing director of the groupʼs local unit told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

The plant will turn out an annual 300,000 sqm of oriented strand board (OSB) from next year, said Interspan Faipari managing director Barnabás Seregi.

He said that 108 people will be employed at the plant.

Krono Group made one of its first investments outside of Switzerland in Vásárosnamény in 1989, but closed the base in 2011 due to economic conditions.
