Kempinski celebrates 20th anniversary in Budapest

Hotels

The five-star Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest opened its doors in downtown Budapest 20 years ago. The hotel was the first five-star luxury hotel in Budapest and can also boast being the first Hungarian member of “The Leading Hotels of the World” chain.

The first hotel operated in a joint venture structure in Hungary, Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest was also the first one to have its own art collection: the Kempinski Gallery displays Hungarian contemporary artists.

Most recently, the hotel introduced several innovative services. Last year, for example, Hungary's first public electric car charging station was opened in the building. The hotel also played a pioneering role in technology by offering its wine list on iPads.

In 2011, Kempinski received the Best Brands Award.

The Hungarian member of the chain has 326 rooms and 33 suites. Kempinski is present in 31 countries with 73 five-star hotels, and plans further expansion in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia in the following years. Kempinski is a founding member of the Global Hotel Alliance.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
