Japanese SIIX invests HUF 6.4 bln in Hungary

Japanese electronic components maker SIIX Corporation has announced it will invest HUF 6.4 billion in building a plant in Nagykőrös, southeast of Budapest, with a non-refundable government grant of HUF 1.3 bln, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The plant is expected to start operations in the third quarter of next year, said Koji Yanase, CEO of SIIX Europe GmbH, adding that the plant is expected to create 300 new jobs. 

The company will produce electronic parts for industrial machinery, automotive products and household machinery at the 16,800 square-meter plant, with a special focus on fulfilling the outsourcing and logistics needs of the companyʼs European partners, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
