Wizz Air Launching Flights to Cairo

Transport

Wizz Air will launch flights from Budapest to Cairo three times a week from the end of October, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page.

The minister wrote that the airline has not been able to start a flight to the Egyptian capital until now because the rules at Cairo International Airport "essentially excluded" low-cost operators from the airport.

He emphasized that Hungary has kept the issue on the agenda at every negotiation since 2022, asking their Egyptian partners to grant Wizz Air a landing permit in Cairo.
