OMV to Sell Medicines at Nearly 100 Stations in Hungary

Retail

From this spring, 99 OMV service stations across Hungary will offer over-the-counter medicines. As part of the distribution in cooperation with Goodwill Pharma, fever and painkillers, nasal and eye drops, vitamins and anti-inflammatory drugs will be available at the stations.

OMV Hungária decided to introduce over-the-counter medicines, medical devices and dietary supplements in response to growing demand, following a trial period covering 10 stations.

Following the positive experience, the company decided to extend the sales to 89 more refueling stations this year, making the products available in about 50% of OMV's Hungarian network.

According to the relevant legislation, the sale of medicines is only allowed to persons over 14 years of age, and no take-back is possible at the service stations. Customers can obtain information about the products from the MDD medicines information system, which is certified by the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy, from the digital kiosk at the filling station or from the printed leaflet.

Waste medicines can also be handed in free of charge at the dispensing stations.
