Gobuda Mall Celebrates 2nd Anniversary

Gobuda Mall, the largest shopping center in Óbuda, hosting around 100 stores and boasting an occupancy rate of almost 90%, celebrated the second anniversary of its opening this month.

"We are proud that Gobuda Mall, celebrating its second anniversary this year, has now become one of Óbuda's most popular meeting and shopping destinations. The mall reflects the spirit of Wing: during the development of Gobuda Mall, our vision was to create a building that offers stores and community spaces at a human-scale, easily accessible, functional yet welcoming environment. Uniquely, cultural values also play an important role, with regular high-quality theatre programs adding to the range of services available. Based on the positive feedback, we can state that we have achieved our goals and we will continue to strive for maximum visitor satisfaction," said Ernő Takács, deputy CEO of Wing, responsible for retail and hotel portfolio.

Gobuda Mall is WING's third shopping center development project in Budapest, following the successful repositioning and renovation of Hegyvidék Shopping Center and MOM Park. The 25,000 sqm of leasable area covers almost 100 stores in practice, of which approximately 90% has already been leased. The mall serves the shopping needs of around 750,000 people living in the catchment area and aims to offer a wide range of services, while the thematic arrangement of stores makes it easier for customers to find their way around, Wing notes.

When devising the tenant mix, the company placed a focus on anchor tenants (e.g. Interspar, Douglas, DM, Pepco, Mohito, and KFC). In addition, the building also features a theater: “Vidám Színpad” offers child-friendly shows in addition to performances for adults. In addition, the modernized Gobuda Cinema is equipped with the latest cinema projection technology and is becoming increasingly popular among the locals.
