The Hungarian military's airport in Taszár (180 km southwest of Budapest) has been bought by a company owned by a Taiwanese billionaire, according to the website Menedzsment Fórum.

The Taszár military airport operated until 2005 when the Hungarian military closed it for financial reasons.

In 2009, most of its territory was sold to KaposBusz, while the remaining buildings deteriorated.

The sale of the airport at auction closed on March 31, 2023, for HUF 3.6 billion (EUR 9.33 million).

Through several business subsidiaries, the ultimate owner was revealed to be Frank Liu, a Taiwanese businessman who is also a Hungarian citizen.
