Hungarian Suzuki revenue down 11.4%
Suzuki's Hungarian subsidiary, Magyar Suzuki had net revenue of € 1.4 billion last year, down 11.4% from €1.581 billion in 2011, CEO of Magyar Suzuki Hisashi Takeuchi told the press in Budapest last week. In 2011, Magyar Suzuki's revenue grew by almost 3%, he added. Dealers in contract with Suzuki sold 3,300 cars in Hungary last year, about three times more than in 2011. Before the global crisis, 150 dealers sold 39,000-40,000 cars annually in Hungary. Magyar Suzuki exports more than 90% of its production to European countries. Last year, Magyar Suzuki manufactured 156,070 cars, 9% less than in 2011. This year they plan to produce 170,000 cars, including the new SX4, the first C-category crossover of the brand, the CEO said.
