Hungarian Audi plant puts out two mln engines in 2015

The Hungarian plant of German manufacturer Audi in Győr turned out a total of 2,022,520 engines in 2015, up by approximately 50,000 compared to the preceding year, Audi Hungaria said today, according to Hungarian news agency MTI. Car output also rose by approximately 25,000 to 160,206 in 2015.
Last year the plant rolled out 1.53 million four-cylinder engines and 435,636 six-cylinder engines, accounting for most of the firmʼs engine production, MTI reported.
The German company is planning further investments in the Hungarian plant this year in order to improve their international competitiveness, Audi Hungaria Motor managing director Péter Kossler said, according to MTI.
Headcount at Audi in Hungary grew by 137 in 2015 as compared to 2014, reaching a total number of 11,411.
