GVH fines Global Partners System HUF 10 mln

The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) fined Global Partners System HUF 10 million on charges of misleading advertising and falsely attributing therapeutic effects to its HillVital Gyógyfüves Mesterbalzsam unguent, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.
According to the competition authority, the firm made misleading statements about general health effects of the product, despite the product being cosmetic in nature, and GVH claimed that the company advertised the product as containing only natural ingredients, MTI said.
GVH noted that it expects scientific evidence from manufacturers if they make beneficial health claims for their cosmetic products, according to MTI.
