The Hungarian government could declare a project to develop properties valued at HUF 150 billion-200 bln near the capital’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport of “elevated importance”, paving the way for the sale of 26 parcels of land, daily Magyar Idők reported today.
The developments would include a rail line to connect Liszt Ferenc Airport with the nearby train line, as well as a hotel and logistics base, the paper said.
The draft decree, posted on the governmentʼs website, refers to 26 parcels of land and in the event that the project is deemed of elevated importance it will enable the compulsory sale of these parcels, the Deputy Mayor of Vecsés, Ferenc Tabori told the paper. Each parcel has at least one owner, and in some cases several owners that until now were unable to reach an agreement on the sale of their land, the paper added.
