Government accelerates Ibiden’s investment
The Hungarian government declared Ibiden Hungary’s process of obtaining permits for an investment of “elevated significance”, thus accelerating the procedure, a decree published in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny reveals.
The government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Japanese-owned automotive industry supplier in April, under which the implementation of Ibiden’s expansion plan in Hungary was established. The main areas of cooperation between Ibiden and the government are development of production, of R&D and of a vocational training partnership, earlier reports indicated.
Ibiden Hungary, which manufactures diesel particulate filters, has a headcount of more than 2,200 employees at four production halls and an R&D center at its base in Dunavarsány, near Budapest.
