The Hungarian aviation unit of General Electric inaugurated a 4,600 sqm production hall at the companyʼs base in Veresegyház yesterday, according to state news agency MTI.

The ceremony was attended by GE Aviation vice president Anthony Aiello and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. The investment cost HUF 2.8 bln, including HUF 1.7 bln spent on expanding the plant and HUF 1.1 bln on buying machinery and technology.

The aircraft engine manufacturing plantʼs size almost doubled with the expansion and 25 workplaces were created. GE Aviation is planning on establishing an aviation research center in Veresegyház, the fourth research center of GE in Hungary, Aiello said.
