Duna Aszfalt wins tender as their seven competitors are disqualified

Competition

Fidesz-friendly construction company Duna Aszfalt won the second round of a HUF 1.8 bln road construction tender after Közgép successfully appealed against the decision in the first round of the tendering process, according to news portal index.hu.

The daily said that Közgép, along with another participant, were disqualified in the first round because their offer was “disproportionately low”. A week after the bidders were asked to provide additional information about their bids, Duna Aszfalt was announced winner of the second round of tendering, while the two other bidders were disqualified for not submitting the requested documents, which were said to be at their disposal, index.hu added. The first round winner Zajép, who was also said to have failed in providing the requested information in the second round, refused to comment.
