The recent expansion of Dentons’ Budapest team, with the addition of some 50 partners, associates and other professionals from White & Case, has significantly strengthened the firm’s legal services offered in Hungary, turning it into a regional advisory hub, the firm said today in an announcement.

The announcement adds that the firm has significantly increased its rankings in key league tables for legal advisors on M&A transactions in CEE/SEE, reaching the No. 1 spot for Eastern Europe in Bloomberg’s recently published Global M&A Market Review Legal Rankings (1st 3Q 2015), while also reaching the No. 4 position in CEE by volume and the No. 5 by value in Mergermarket’s M&A League Tables for 1Q-3Q 2015.

“The regional M&A deal flow in Central and Eastern Europe continues apace with increased activity in both the mid-market and large scale segments, and with healthcare, financial services and TMT attracting a significant portion of the attention. The expansion of our headcount in Budapest, together with Dentons’ commitment to the region, has enabled our team to ride this wave of activity,” Rob Irving, Partner in Dentons’ Budapest and Global Co-Chair of Dentons Private Equity Group said.

“Dentons’ recent expansion in Budapest has created a pivotal advisory hub to serve the new M&A upsurge in the CEE/SEE region and broader increase in demand for legal services,” said István Réczicza Office Managing Partner at Dentons Budapest. “The eminent lawyers from some of the most respected teams have joined together at just the right time to participate in this dynamic market.”

Dentons Budapest office said it also specializes in other practice areas besides corporate M&A, including private equity, real estate, banking and finance and disputes. With offices in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey, and nearly 300 lawyers, Dentons boasts that it fields one of the largest and most experienced teams in the region.
