The manufacturing of an electronic control unit (ECU) for brakes that is used in Alfa Romeo Giulia was launched for the first time in the world today, and it is exclusively taking place in Budapest, automotive firm Continental Hungary announced today in a press statement.

Continentalʼs MK C1 brake system.

Engineers in Budapest and Veszprém reportedly contributed to the development of the system. The ECU is manufactured in Continental Hungary’s plant in Budapest, the press release noted.

Continental said the MK C1 brake system is a high efficiency system, with smoother braking and smaller braking distance as compared to traditional brake systems.

“We are especially proud that we can supply MK C1 for a vehicle such as Alfa Romeo Giulia,” Róbert Keszte, CEO of Continental Automotive Hungary Kft. and director of Continental’s Budapest plant, said.
