Coloplast to open logistics center in Tatabánya

Coloplast Hungary, the Hungarian unit of Danish medical supplies manufacturer Coloplast, has started building a local logistics center in the industrial park of Tatabánya, the company told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

The 25,000 square-meter facility will start operating in summer 2017. The area of the new logistics base will be five times that of the current site.
The Hungarian logistics center will be a multi-functional base: in addition to delivering finished products to target countries, country-specific packaging of products will also take place here. Coloplast will supply Central European markets and overseas developing countries from this base.
The company employs more than 3,000 workers in Hungary at its plants in Tatabánya and Nyírbátor. Coloplastʼs Hungarian plants have the biggest production capacity, ahead of the five production facilities in the U.S., Denmark, France and China.
Coloplast Hungary said in September 2015 that it would build a new plant in Tatabánya, creating 500 new jobs, with an investment of HUF 11 billion.
Coloplast Hungary had revenues of HUF 85.4 bln in the business year ending on September 30, 2015, selling almost 100% of its output to the parent company.
