China-based Himile Group completed construction of a vulcanized tire mould plant in Székesfehérvár yesterday through an investment of HUF 1.4 billion, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) announced in a press release. The plant will serve China and Europe.

Planning for expansions valued at billions of forints in the coming years, Himile said that this first phase of the investment could be followed by further developments in Hungary.

Currently the plant’s area is 3,100 sqm, which the company hopes to expand to 6,000 sqm in 3-5 years. In line with this investment, the Himileʼs staff of 50 could be raised to 200, the press release from HIPA said.

In keeping with plans to maintain its base for European operations in Hungary, the company expects further expansion on the continent, as well as a rise in production capacity and product ranges produced here, the press release said.

Himile supplies products for leading tire makers including Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Michelin and Pirelli, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
