Hungarian casinos were due to pay a combined gambling tax of HUF 7.375 billion in 2015, reduced to HUF 3.086 bln as a result of concession fees already paid, state secretary of the National Economy Ministry András Tállai said yesterday.

Responding to a question raised by opposition MP István Ikotity, Tállai said the combined gambling tax base for casinos operating in Hungary was HUF 22.457 bln in 2015, MTI reported.

The state secretary added that it would be possible to provide information on actual 2015 gambling tax revenues as of February, as certain payment obligations are due in January, according to MTI.
