Audi Hungaria Motors signs agreement with trade union

The management of the Hungarian plant of German car manufacturer Audi has signed an agreement with Audi Hungaria Independent Trade Union (AHFSZ) today to raise the wages of plant employees by HUF 15,000-20,000 per month, according to reports.
As a result of the agreement, which was reached Friday following nearly four months of negotiations, the planned strike by plant employees was cancelled, according to reports.
An agreement was also reached on a one-off wage top-up amounting to HUF 20,000, Audi Hungaria’s spokerperson Monika Czechmesiter reportedly said.
AHFSZ established a strike committee on March 21 after negotiations on the wage increase of employees at Audi Hungaria’s plant in Győr reportedly failed. The AHFSZ asked for at least a HUF 15,000 uniform raise to basic wages, retroactive to January. Furthermore, the union also asked for a revision to the current salary system, and called for the creation of a “working group” to decide on a new wage system.
