Auchan Magyarország revenue up 3.6% last year

French-owned Auchan Magyarország had revenue of HUF 337.6 billion at its Hungarian supermarkets and filling stations in the financial year ending on March 31, up 3.6% from a year earlier, the supermarket chain told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday.

EBITDA rose 19% to HUF 10.1 bln. Net profit came to HUF 2.2 bln and operating costs edged down 0.7% from a year earlier. 

Auchan Magyarország spent HUF 3.5 bln on investments to open new filling stations during the period.

The company will launch its e-commerce service in the autumn, CEO Dominique Ducoux said in the statement.

In 2015, 86% of Auchan Magyarországʼs suppliers were local.

Auchan operates 19 stores and 18 filling stations and employs almost 7,000 people in Hungary.
