ABB Hungary turns 25, has long-term plans

The Hungarian subsidiary of Swiss-Swedish engineering and technology giant ABB Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the country, and is nurturing long-term plans having recently expanded its portfolio and customer base and renewed its profile, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal today.

The company celebrated its 25th anniversary today with its customers at a conference where domestic and foreign speakers in the industry discussed current trends and opportunities in leading technology, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0, with a particular focus on industrial automation and engineering, according to the statement. 

In Hungary, the company has deployed ABB equipment in more than 200 substations and initiated a number of innovative developments in the field of energy and automation, the press statement noted. In total, ABB employs approximately 400 people in its divisions specializing in electrification products, power grids, manufacturing automation and industrial automation.

“I am very proud to be the managing director of ABB Kft., which has been successful on the Hungarian market for 25 years, and I intend to follow the strategy that has proven successful so far,” said Taira-Julia Lammi, the new MD of ABB Kft. who was appointed on September 1. “Over the last 25 years, ABB has become faster, more agile, leaner and more efficient. We will continue implementing ABB’s Next Level strategy in Hungary as well, and in stage 3 we will build on the development of innovative technologies, creating value and our leadership in digitization.”
