Visegrad Patent Institute starts operating in Budapest

History

The Visegrad Patent Institute, established by the four Visegrad Group countries early last year, started operating in Budapest on Friday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

The Visegrad Group countries – Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia – announced last year that they signed the agreement on the establishment of the patent institute to fill a gap within the Patent Cooperation Treaty by creating an international authority in Central and Eastern Europe.

The institute is a virtual one, built on the existing capacities of the patent authorities in the Visegrad Group countries.

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
