After receiving bids far lower than the preferred sale price, the sale of Budapest’s Köki Terminál mall proved unsuccessful for the second time around, Hungarian daily Népszabadság reported today.

During the first tender called in October 2013, the liquidator offered HUF 35 billion for the building, which was built for HUF 40 billion, however, the tender was unsuccessful. This time, the liquidator offered HUF 27 bln for the building, however, the highest bid was approximately HUF 8 bln, Népszabadság said.

The 220,000 sqm building, which is located at the final stop of Metro Line 3 and the bus terminal, offers a total of only 70,000 sqm of leasable space. Liquidation procedures were initiated against Operator R-CO in 2012, according to reports.
