Official: CIA has no information on terrorist threat to Budapest
Contrary to a report published by Polish daily Rzeczpospolita, the CIA has no information on a potential terrorist threat to Hungary, György Bakondi (pictured), the chief domestic security advisor to the prime minister said today, according to reports.

During an interview with Hungarian state-owned all news channel M1, the security advisor said that after the Polish dailyʼs report surfaced, the Hungarian government requested information directly from the U.S. agency. The CIA said it had no information about any specific terrorist threat to Budapest, Bakondi said. The CIA did not confirm the content of Rzeczpospolitaʼs report, he added.
Bakondi said if a threat existed in Hungary, the United States would inform Hungarian officials as Budapest regularly receives information from out of country due to its cooperation with international intelligence agencies.
