Hungarian schoolkids participate in Skype-a-Thon
Students of Budapestʼs Ottó Herman Elementary School participated in Microsoft’s Skype-a-Thon initiative, aimed at drawing attention to the importance of involving technology in education, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal today.
On November 29 and 30, a total of 47 countries participated in a global series of events including Skype calls and presentations, "traveling" three million virtual miles in order to raise awareness of the possibilities and importance of technology linked to education.
The Hungarian students connected with students in Singapore, in order to showcase the advantages and opportunities of involving video conferences in classroom activities.
Today, due to technological advancements if applicable, students can polish and share their knowledge through online platforms, which boosts the digital and economic maturity of a country in the long term, Microsoft said in the press statement.
