Hungary 2023 FX Issue Wins Acknowledgement
A USD 4.25 billion FX bond Hungary issued early last year has been acknowledged as the best EMEA security in the emerging markets category of the IFR Awards 2023, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said in a post on Facebook on Tuesday.
"Hungary has received another international acknowledgment for successful debt management," Varga said.
International Financing Review said Hungary had "seized the first opportunity that presented itself in 2023", raising more dollar funding in a single day than its initial full-year target of USD 4 bln.
"This year, we're keeping the economy on the growth path, while reducing the budget deficit and state debt levels," Varga said in his post.
