The Hungarian government allocated HUF 25 bln for the construction of a new complex at the Budapest Zoo, government spokesman Zoltán Kovács said at a press conference held at the zoo yesterday.

The new complex called Pannon Park, is to be built on a plot of 6.5 hectares adjacent to the zoo and will include a biodome displaying what life was like in the Carpathian Basin millions of years ago. The project will be complete in 2018-19.

At the press conference, Budapest Mayor István Tarlós and Zoo Director Miklós Persányi announced the details of the new complex.
