Appellate court acquits MOL chief
The Budapest Court of Appeals on Wednesday upheld the acquittal of MOL chairman-CEO Zsolt Hernádi on charges of international bribery and other crimes, Hungarian news agency MTI reported. The court did make minor changes to the first-instance ruling.
The plaintiff in the case, a MOL shareholder and a former MOL employee, sued Hernádi for financial damages. She claimed to have lost HUF 24 mln on a drop in MOL's share price after the publication of allegations that Hernádi had bribed former Croatian prime minister Ivo Sanader to acquire management rights in Croatian oil and gas company INA.
