Leading online marketplace adds services, allows video upload for advertisers
Hungarians now search for service providers mostly online, a trend that should be further helped by the option of video advertisements on Vatera, Hungaryʼs biggest web-based marketplace.
Whenever Hungarians need a service, they increasingly tend to look for a provider online. In parallel, advertisers are becoming more willing to promote themselves on the internet as well - this is what is concluded by a survey conducted by Vatera, which bills itself as the countryʼs largest online marketplace, involving 5,000 users.
Results show that 40% of people in need of a particular service will carry out a search electronically, 30% ask around among friends and 27% try to find someone via social media channels. Online service search is thought to be efficient because of its speed (26%); a further advantage is that the offers of multiple providers can be compared (25%). Filtering and price comparisons were another benefit.
Vatera says it has reacted to this information to meet customer demand by including a new “services” category on its platform. Accordingly, from now on, language teachers, electricians, hair dressers or movers can be searched.
Another novelty is the possibility for advertisers to upload a short introductory video. The video option was rated by 67% of respondents as useful, as it can help choose the right service provider.
“Launching the services category is a key step in Vateraʼs life, since yet another segment enters our website on top of our three million ads, which is unrivalled on the Hungarian online advertising market,” said Áron Szanitter, managing director of Vatera.
