State Sec: Healthcare Workers Receiving Higher Wages
Nurses and healthcare workers will receive their 18% higher wages for July in the next few days, state secretary responsible for health at the Ministry of the Interior Péter Takács said at a press conference in Budapest on Friday, according to hrportal.hu.
Takács added that despite the difficulties caused by the war and sanctions, the government will continue to increase the wages of healthcare workers this year, and another big increase is expected next March.
The wage increase affects almost 84,000 nurses and health workers. He said that since 2010, the wages of nurses have increased significantly in several phases, the most recent being a 10% wage increase in January of last year.
With the current increase, the gross basic salary of nurses will increase by an average of four times compared to 2010, Takács added.
