Instead of the current state contribution of HUF 25,000, the government appears to be giving priority to supporting secondary school pupils and students in state vocational training institutions to obtain a category B driving license almost free, according to a report by hvg.hu.

Almost the entire cost would be reimbursed according to a recent proposal.

"The State shall provide free of charge the basic knowledge of traffic and the knowledge necessary to pass the practical test for obtaining a category B road driving licence," the proposal reads.

This is a point that the government would add to the vocational training and public education laws, which would apply to both students in public vocational training institutions and those in secondary schools.
