Hungary Leasing Market Grows Close to 6% in 2023

New lease contract value rose 5.5% to HUF 909.5 billion in Hungary last year, the head of the Hungarian Leasing Association said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The number of contracts increased 2.6% to 73,000, after declining for four years, István Zs. Nagy said.

SMEs accounted for 66pc of leasing company clients, while big companies made up 16% and retail clients 6pc.

Passenger car, light commercial vehicle, and motorcycle leases accounted for 51% of the total contract value, or HUF 441.5 bln.
