The balance sheet of Magyar Eximbank climbed 70% last year, CEO Kornel Kisgergely said at the Exim Awards ceremony, according to novekedes.hu.

The lender's refinancing activity reached a new record in 2023, Kisgergely said. Outlays in the framework of the Gábor Baross Reindustrialization Program, a subsidized credit scheme for businesses, came to HUF 750 billion, he added.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy said Hungary's economy could grow around 3% this year.

Performance of the domestic economy, in sectors such as food production, construction, commerce and logistics, support the growth outlook, but exports, which hinge on developments in the German and European economies, as well as the future of electromobility, remain "a big question," he added.
