Artificial Fertilizer Sales Fall 19% in 2023

Sales volume of artificial fertilizer dropped 19% to 371,000 tonnes in 2023, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show.

Sales volume was the lowest in more than a decade.

Sales included 265,000 tonnes of nitrogen, 54,000 tonnes of phosphorous, and 51,000 tonnes of potassium.

Relative to the area of farmland in Hungary, artificial fertilizer sales came to 73 kg per hectare.
