NATO Expands Innovation Network in Hungary

NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (Diana) has announced it will expand its presence in Hungary, the Defence Ministry said on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The Diana network of accelerators and test centers in Hungary will rise to nine, said Brigadier General Imre Porkoláb, the ministerial commissioner for defense innovation. They will tap the local knowledge base and use cutting-edge infrastructure for work in areas such as artificial intelligence, automatization, and 5G, he added.
The first accelerator site in Hungary will launch as a partnership between the Defense Innovation Research Institute Nonprofit (Viki) and Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN), while test centers established by the University of Pécs, Óbuda University, BHE Bonn Hungary Electronics, Alverad Technology Focus, ITSec Area and Nokia Bell Labs, undergo accreditation.
In 2023, two Diana test centers were accredited in Hungary: the ZalaZone, Auto Proving Ground, and the ZalaZone Research and Technology Center.
