Labor unions welcomed a decision by the Constitutional Court annulling provisions of the Labor Code affecting collective contracts, the National Federation of Workers' Councils (Mosz) said, according to hrportal.hu.

The court's decision to invalidate discriminatory provisions in the Labor Code "sends a clear message" that unions have a right to modify or cancel collective contracts, Mosz said.

Balázs Barsi, who heads the Engine Drivers Union, said the decision would give the engineers' union "an assured role" in shaping labor affairs of the state-owned MÁV-Volán group.
