Artisjus Paid HUF 8.7 bln in Royalties Last Year

Artisjus, the Hungarian association of composers, songwriters, and music publishers, paid HUF 8.7 billion in royalties last year, up 29% from 2021, but still short of the level of annual payments before the coronavirus pandemic, according to profitline.hu.
Artisjus said royalties for Hungarian music accounted for 52% of the total, while royalties for foreign songs made up the rest.
Royalties were paid to 18,414 Hungarian artists. Royalties paid to Hungarian artists for international music streaming services tripled to HUF 273 million.
